ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR
Reinhard Voelkel is a Associate Director at Renevo Capital Limited, supporting M&A and capital-related assignments for technology companies, with a focus on photonics, semiconductors, semiconductor equipment, medical, life science, telecom and datacom.
He has more than three decades of international leadership experience in high-tech industries. Reinhard spent over 25 years as CEO of SUSS MicroOptics, where he successfully transformed the company from an early-stage venture into a globally recognized supplier of advanced micro-optics solutions. Under his leadership, the company expanded its technology portfolio and customer base across telecom, datacom, life sciences, laser systems, semiconductor equipment and automotive lighting markets.
Reinhard combines deep technical understanding with strong strategic and transactional insight. His advisory work spans strategic readiness, growth and scaling strategies, technology positioning, investor engagement and transaction support for founders, executive teams and boards navigating complex market and ownership transitions.
His contributions to the industry have been recognized through multiple professional honours. Reinhard is a SPIE Fellow, OPTICA Senior Member, recipient of the Swiss Manufacturing Award by the University of St. Gallen in 2021, EPIC CEO of the Year Award, and received the DVN Lighting Star Award. He is actively involved in industry bodies and forums, including Chair of the OPTICA corporate engagement and Co-Chair of the OPTICA Global Photonics Economic Forum, and maintains close ties to international investors and executive networks.
At Renevo Capital, Reinhard works on a project basis as an independent advisor, contributing senior-level perspective, industry access and strategic judgement to selected mandates.
